During the Howard years, Australia dropped from the world’s third-best Internet infrastructure after the US and Finland to somewhere completely out of the top 10. Rudd’s building a below-average network, incapable of delivering even a quarter of the needed bandwidth. Or if Telstra gets its way, the bandwidth but to only 90% of the population.

Despite industry experts condemning Stephen Conroy’s (our new Telecommunications minister) plan to filter the internet in Australia the government is about to waste tens of millions of dollars on technology that will slow down the internet. Smartphones are becoming very useful devices and far from the compromises of a few years ago. Windows Mobile 6 is a big step from 5 and functionality is more closely focused around phone first pda second… oh and dual processors help. I have had the HTC Touch Cruise for two months and highly recommend it for any business user or anyone who travels.
