Well I finally received the Shift and it is certainly living up to its reputation. By far the best UMPC and with HSDPA it makes this unit completely ultra mobile. For $1899 plus a NextG sim card you have a notebook replacement with an excellent keyboard and a 7 day battery life (on snapvue). Further Details here. I’m not sure why HTC have cut down the Win Mobile 6 platform on the second processor and called it SnapVue as it is completely useless except for very basic email tasks. Luckily there is a “Liberate your HTC Shift” hack which at least gives you Office Mobile and a few other must haves - here.
Check out the 2008 Whirlpool broadband survey:
74% of the 17000 who undertook the survey disagreed with the Governments policy for mandatory ISP-level content filtering. A large number of these people who disagree are IT professionals yet the government in all their wisdom feel that spending tens of millions on an all but useless content filtering system condemned by experts will protect its voters. http://whirlpool.net.au/survey/2007/
